Monday 23rd June 1884 Wind N.E. blowing strong & weather misty and rain & chilly – Barque “Sovereign” Kearon, left abt ¼ to 7am with ballast for Richardton steamer Caplin to be had with cast net all along the shore Plover, Manual, abt. ½ past 5am from North left for Saint John abt. ¼ to 7am – during pre noon sky clearing & wind dropping off – 2pm wind shifted to South & weather bright & fine – air cool – abt. 20 to 8pm Robt White’s, new schooner “Marion”, was launched in excellent style by Mr. Chas Newhook
