Friday 27th Feb 1846 – Fine clear & frosty thermometer at zero – Wind north – about 20 minutes after 9am Mr. Wm. Stoneman’s new schooner “Times” was launched in excellent style by Mr. Chas. Newhook junior amidst a concourse of people assembled and the occasion to witness the scene. Afternoon blowing strong from W.N.W. with snow – Evening squally with snow, showery from wind strong from W.N.W. to N.W.
