Monday 19th Aug 1850 – Foggy, dense atmosphere, and calm – about ½ past meridian wind sprang up gently from the south, becoming warm, & dry.  Afternoon dense fog, & damp wind E.S.E. – about 5pm – still gloomy, and foggy, wind S.E. – ½ past 5pm Brig Dorothy, re-launched after undergoing repairs, & hauled round & ? ? ? Morris as far as Salmon Cove this evening, to proceed on the morrow, by land to Catalina with letters to R. Slade ? there – Packet Boat at ?, Coleman’s; from New Perlican with letters ?
