Grieve & Bremner

Saturday 17th Feb 1844 – Gloomy, & Darkly overcast, with rain, & glitter, wind from S.E. strong breeze.  The schooner Caroline after undergoing a thorough repair this winter & some remolding was launched in excellent style by Mr. James Saunders at about 8 o’clock this morning at ˝ past 8Am wind veered to south & continued to blow strong, & thick weather, with rain.  Afternoon wind changed to S.W. – atmosphere clearing somewhat, & wind abating – Evening wind W.S.W. & moderating, continuing mild – latterly wind Westerly.
