Thursday 29th Aug 1850 – Cloudy, gloomy, & damp wind S.W. – at 8am boat Dash, Geo Christian; for Hant’s Harbor Captain Field, Miss Cross, Miss K. Field passengers – and – R. White Junior, D. White, & Hy Newhook riggers – with John Newhook, & Wm Rogers – Carpenters also passengers – Shipping fish from the store on the Brig “Dorothy” – Afternoon fine, wind S.S.W, about ½ past 3 pm Wm White by land from Catalina with letters – Evening fine, & dry wind S.W. – Wm White took passage in Kellands boat for Silly Cove, to go to H.H. to assist Captain Field in rigging the new brig.
