Trinity has had its fair share of history in the shipbuilding industry.
In the past couple of decades there have been at least four shipyards
located
in the harbour. These yards have built dozens of vessels, from small
wooden row boats to large 65 foot fiberglass high-tech fishing vessels.
The Vokey family was predominantly the focal family
to build vessels in Trinity harbour in the more recent years. But the
Marsh family also took up the tradition of shipbuilding in the last
decade.
This section will introduce you to
the many members of the Vokey family who used this industry to keep the
family tradition alive, as well as make a living. You will also view
photos from the Marsh family shipyard and the many boats which they
built over their years in business. |
